Product Description
A dispersion of very fine particles of Molybdenum Disulphide in an air drying resin. It provides lubrication when oils and greases cannot be used. It is available in bulk as well as in an aerosol spray.
Applications
Pre-Assembly Treatment
Spanjaard ADF provides protection from scuffing and other assembly problems during running in. With the aerosol can, it is possible to apply an extremely thin film which will not interfere with normal assembly tolerances. The average particle size of MoS2 is 0,4 micron.
-Protective Coating
Spanjaard ADF prevents corrosion during shipping and storage. Thus expensive parts can be protected from rust and are pre-lubricated, ready for immediate use. Spanjaard ADF provides a protective coating resistant to nearly all acids and alkali (including nitric acid).
-High Temperature Lubrication
Spanjaard ADF provides a stable lubricating film at temperatures of -20°C to 350°C. Even though resin breakdown starts at this temperature, the Molybdenum Disulphide continues to act as a dry lubricant up to 450°C (or higher if air access is reduced). Spanjaard ADF is widely used as a high temperature lubricant in the steel industry.
-Dry Lubrication
Spanjaard ADF is the answer when problems are caused by the application of conventional wet lubricants and provides dry lubrication in dusty conditions.
Spanjaard ADF is used to lubricate and protect humble hooks in the mining industry.
-Cutting Tools
Great benefit can be derived by the use of Spanjaard ADF on Cutting Tools. For maximum effectiveness the tools should be ground crosswise to the direction of chip flow to provide reservoirs of Molybdenum Disulphide.
-Plastic Surfaces
Spanjaard ADF can be used to advantage on many plastic surfaces such as nylon bearings.
Application Instruction
1. Thoroughly degrease the component to be treated, preferably with a safety solvent, e.g. Spanjaard Electric Motor Cleaner which leave no residue.
2. Shake the aerosol can vigorously and apply one or more thin layers of Air Drying Film, allowing 3 minutes drying for each coat. If bulk is used, stir product and dip, spray or brush on a thin coat.
3. For aerosol coating, wait 24 hours for the resin to one hour. Thicker coats applied by dipping brush or spray gun might require longer curing.
Available Packing
